Loredana Corduneanu is a critical incidents negotiations expert at ANP.
She has a wide experience within the Psycho-social Assistance Department and the Social Reintegration Directorate and for the last four years has been involved in training negotiators in critical incidents. She has also been a visiting expert for EUJUST LEX IRAK (European Union Integrated Rule of Law for Iraq) and she has delivered the Prison Leadership - GOLD” courses. She has also been a lector at Al. Raluca Stuparu is a critical incidents trainer at ANP.
She is a graduate of psychology, with a Master’s Degree in Management Communication and Human Resources and with post graduate studies in Educational Management and E-learning for Continuous Training for Staff and a certificate in E-tutoring. She is responsible for implementing the e-learning platforms in the Romanian prison system and, currently, she is the Head of the Vocational Training Department within the ANP. Orsolya Czenczer, Ph.D.

Orsolya Czenczer PhD, correctional major, associate professor. Our colleague is the principal active researcher in the domain of corrections and the executions of the criminal punishments. She is working in the field of education since 2004, and conducting researches from 2006. She has been the Hungarian party for more than 6 international researches, one of which ended with her PhD thesis in 2008. She has conducted several researches in Hungary too. The international and national researches were conducted in the field of penology and included topics such as the resocialization in the prisons, juvenile delinquency, life-long punishment, and the execution of criminal punishments in east-European countries.

Juergen Hillmer is working at the Senator of Justice and Constitution, Bremen: as Desk officer for European affairs and programmes on Bremen Prison Regime and criminology service.  He has long lasting experiences in the implementation of European projects in prison, focusing on e-learning and resettlement. He is coordinating regional, national and international activities in the field of education, training, reintegration and employment (ETE) of ex-offenders: project management within EU Programmes of DG Employment, DG Education and DG JLS. He is also doing the coordination of ETE cooperation between the Northern German Justice Departments (Northern Alliance); National Thematic Network on ETE; European Prison Regime Forum (EPRF). So he will be responsible for networking, dissemination, but also for the implementation of the project in the Bremen prison.

Cristina Busuioc  work in  social work and education fields from 1991 and in Timisoara Prison from 2006 as social worker. She has two university degree in engineering and social work ("Politehnica" University of Timisoara and "Lucian Blaga University Sibiu). Her duties include the assessment of social situation of inmates, counseling, information, planning and implementation of social programs for inmates, involvement in implementation of European projects.

Cristina was involved in European projects like "Relaxation and Training Center Great River" in partnership with the British Foundation Mencap-funded Phare Lien, project "On my feet"  funding by Soros  and Friends of Hope Foundation Netherland, "Matra II Project" funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and "Site Model" funded by the Open Society Institute New, Convicts Aid Liberty Project-LLP (member of implementation team) and Program interregional integrat de calificare/recalificare profesionala a persoanelor private de libertate-POSDRU/96/6.2/S/61909. Octavian Repolschi, Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Politics, Philosophy and Communication, West University of Timisoara (UVT). Since 2007 he has been teaching seminars in Critical Thinking, Information Theory, Research Methodologies in Communication Sciences, and Rhetoric at undergraduate and graduate levels. He is the author of several articles and conferences regarding issues in Communication. Pedro das Neves, MA, Ph.D. candidate

Pedro das Neves is a board member of QUALIFY JUST - IT Solutions and Consulting, LTS (IPS_Innovative Prison Systems). He holds a sociology degree and a MA from the College of Europe in Bruges and is currently undertaking (part-time) a PhD research on Public Policy (comparative analysis of justice and prison privatisation) at the Sociology and Public Policies School of ISCTE - IUL Lisbon University Institute. He is a guest lecturer of "Knowledge management and innovation in public services" at the master’s degree on local governance at ISEC and has been a member of the scientific coordinating team of DEIA - Specialization degree in Organizational Learning and Innovation at INA - National Institute of Public Administration. He has been working on public administration reform (central and local government) for more than 15 years, and on Prison Innovation Systems (from 2002) in different European countries. He has been coordinating major implementations in Portugal, Romania, Argentina and Guatemala also supporting specific projects in Catalonia and Germany. Together with the IPS team, Pedro has been involved in the design and implementation of innovative pilot projects lately awarded and recognized as best practices. Under this type of intervention had the opportunity to learn about the operation of 28 prison systems in 32 European countries and visit more than 160 prisons. The main topics of interest relate to management models, systems and quality standards, performance management, public vs. private. Pedro has extensive experience as policy and programme advisor (EU policy, including prison systems modernization, prison work, re-settlement and ICT, international cooperation) for several prison administrations. On behalf of IPS he has been invited as guest observer to European Commission and Council of Europe meetings and as a speaker in several international events organized by the Council of Europe, ICPA, EIPA, the European Commission and governments from different Member States. Pedro is an ICPA member.

Holding a social work degree (Portuguese Catholic University) and an MBA from the Lisbon MBA, He is a board member and Country Manager of Knowledge Systems Romania, SRL., a company formerly belonging to the I.Zone group and now and independent under Romanian law. Tiago has been working since 2004 on Prison Innovation Systems, starting from the "Rumos de Futuro" project aiming to innovate on multi-agency work towards inmate’s reintegration after release as project manager in the Equal program. He was a member of the Caravel transnational Steering Committee who was responsible for the development of integrated approaches in different areas of imprisonment and rehabilitation policies and programs.  He was involved as project manager in the "Credem in Schimbare" project run in Romania with Romanian Prison Administration, which was considered a "good-practice" by the Romanian ESF Management Authority. Tiago was responsible to design and manage innovative projects focusing on knowledge transfer in several areas of social economy and entrepreneurship, namely social business plans, minimum income beneficiaries autonomy, inmates business plan development and on MOMIE – Models on Mentoring for Inclusion and Employment.

Adrian is Vice-president of the National Trade Union of Prison Workers from Romania which affiliates more than 60% of the prison workers. During the last 2 years he managed the project Itinerariul Dialog, financed through Norway Grants 2009 -2014, aiming to improve the social dialogue in the prison sector. Previously, he worked as officer of international cooperation and programs into the Romanian National Administration of Penitentiaries being in charge of accessing and coordinating the implementation of different transnational/national projects.

Between June 2012 and April 2013 he was coordinating the team of Romanian prison officers in charge with the implementation of the project „Enhancing human rights based reforms in Lybian detention system” financed by the European Commission and he was also responsible of coordinating the NAP team and monitoring of the project The return of former convicts to the labour market and their integration in society, implemented in partnership with United Nation Development Program in Romania, West University of Timisoara The National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA),  The Regional Centre for Adults' Professional Training Calarasi.

 

Between 2009 and 2012 he was representing the Romanian Prison Administration into the Steering Committee of ExOffenders Communities of Practice and was in charge of implementing the project at national level. (www.exocop.eu )

Between 2008 and 2011 he was the project manager of the first social inclusion project financed by Social European Fund in Romania through Sectorial Operational Program Human Resources Development.(www.credem-in-schimbare.org )

Between 2006 and 2008 he was in charge of training and mentoring more than 80 prison officers in accessing and implementing projects national wide.

Prior to this position he worked as sociologist in Colibasi Penitentiary since 2001 and between 2002 and 2005 was in charge of coordinating the reintegration service of the prison unit.

Before joining the prison service in 2001 Adrian was working in Pitesti University into the Department of Training Educational Staff.

 

Since 2007 he represents the employees of Headquarter of National Administration of Penitentiaries and in January 2011 he was elected vice-president of The National Trade Union of Prison Workers (www.snlp.ro ) an organisation which represents more than half of the Romanian prison officers. Adrian holds a university degree in Sociology and a Master in Management.

Cláudia Resende, MA, Ph.D. candidate

Cláudia Resende is an on-going Phd student in “Sociology – Specialization: Sociology of the Daily Life, Communication and Life Styles” in Lisbon University – Instituto de Ciências Sociais / Universidade Nova de Lisboa with co-orientation with Montreal University. Her Phd research is circumscribed to leisure times of convicted foreigner inmates, on the use of in-depth methodologies.

She holds a Master Degree in “European Criminology and Criminal Justice Systems” which was obtained with “Magna Cum Laude – Great Distinction” in Ghent University, Belgium. (2005-2006)) and accomplished an intensive training in the School of Criminology, Oporto. (2005).

Cláudia is working as a Sociologist in the Unit for Management of Programs and Projects of the Directorate General of Reintegration and Prison Services, since 2009. Under the scope of her duties, she proposes, develops and evaluates Programs and Projects with a certain degree of innovation regarding prison environment, whether promoted internally or organizations of the civil society. She is also, an internal trainer of the DGRSP as well as the internal coordinator of the qualitative component, in key areas such as Prevention of Suicide within prison facilities, particularly regarding prison staff training.

From October 2013 to October 2014, she was, officially, designated as a representative of DGRSP as an Expert member for Prisons’ sector of the Portuguese Policy Reference Group as far as MEGAN project was concerned, a transnational European project, connected with Mentoring methodology. She has played an active role as member of the Organizing Committee of the “XVI European Prison Regime Forum”, which took place in March 2014 and of the Workshop: “Assessment and Sentence Planning”, in the context of reintegration of offenders, which was hold in June 2010.

In 2008, she was lecturer of the subject “Sociology of Law” in the Superior School of Health and Health Technologies. By the year of 2008, she was selected to be the Portuguese researcher, in ISCTE University, of the European project: “Crime Repression in context”.

During 2007, she was invited as Member of a task force for “Manage and Innovate the Portuguese Prison System”. During that year, she was Sociologist in the Centre for Prison Studies and Penitentiary Training. From 1998 to 2006, she worked as a Rehabilitation Officer within a Special prison – Estabelecimento Prisional de Tires, having background on working with female and male prison population. She was Vice-President of a Youth Organization of descents of immigrants / immigrants. (1995-2001) She has papers, communications and articles related to imprisonment, selectiveness criteria on judicial processes, foreigners and social identities. Her will is to raise awareness in the field of Sociology of Imprisonment as far as the Portuguese framework is concerned.

Ana Gamelas

Ana Gamelas has been connected to social economy in areas such as quality management system and sustainability since 2007. Holding a social work degree (Instituto Superior de Serviço Social do Porto), the first professional experience focused on the analysis of school as an impact player mechanism of social inequalities and poverty. Worked on the development of a proposed adult literacy and integration in the labor market and also in psychosocial care of adolescents coming from disqualified habitats of Porto - attitudes, values and behaviors education.

Ana has extensive experience in the implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in social economy institutions, particularly with EQUASS System - European Quality in Social Services and NP EN ISO 9001: 2008, in intervention areas such as mental health; rehabilitation; children and seniors. Participated in the study E-Social, funded by POAT (Operational Programme of Technical Assistance) on Quality Assurance in institutions of social economy - analyzing the situation of Portuguese social organizations in the implementation of quality management systems and also promoted the modeling of quality management systems for the social sector. She is a certified auditor for EQUASS model in both Assurance and Excellence levels.

Ana was also involved as consultant in the "Credem in Schimbare" project run in Romania with Romanian Prison Administration, which was considered a "good-practice" by the Romanian ESF Management Authority.
